Roularta receives approval from Belgian Competition Authority and completes acquisition of Sanoma brands - Regulated information
On 29 June 2018, the Belgian Competition Authority (BMA) approved acquisition of the Sanoma brands by Roularta Media Group, enabling completion of the acquisition of the Sanoma brands by Roularta Media Group.
The acquired Sanoma brands comprise: the weekly magazines Libelle/Femmes d’Aujourd’hui (CIM 245,504 copies) and Flair Dutch/French (CIM 74,222 copies), the monthly magazines Feeling/Gaël (CIM 69,132 copies) and the magazines La Maison Victor, Communiekrant, and Loving You and the e-commerce platform She Deals, as well as the websites (including flair.be and libelle.be with respectively 804,135 and 600,841 real users/month according to CIM), line extensions and social media channels of the aforementioned brands.
Total 2017 revenue from the brands acquired from Sanoma amounted to approximately 78 million euros for an acquisition price (including pension and subscription obligations) of 33.3 million euros.
The (offline/online) target groups of these acquired brands are pronouncedly female and are therefore a nice addition to the existing high-quality target groups that are already reached through Roularta’s present magazine brands (Knack, Le Vif, Trends, Sportmagazine, Nest, Plus Magazine, etc.).
Parallel to this transaction, the sale to Sanoma of the Roularta titles “Ik ga Bouwen/Je vais Construire” was also finalised for the price of 1 million euros.
